WHO WE ARE

background

Dennilton Educational Movement (DEM) is a non-profit organisation founded on 3 January 2017 by community-driven education advocates. Joshua Mahlangu is among the founding members and currently serves as Chairperson. Guided by the slogan LIVE, LEARN AND TEACH OTHERS, DEM empowers learners, strengthens communities, and promotes education as a tool for positive change.

Vision Statement

To foster a culture of excellence, hard work, and diligence by nurturing communities that welcome and uplift every child, regardless of background, race, or ability. We envision a safe and supportive environment where learners are equipped with essential life skills to think critically, embrace both failure and success, work collaboratively, inspire and appreciate one another, and reject destructive influences such as drugs and absenteeism. Through active, innovative teaching and learning, we aim to build sustainable communities that empower young people to become educated, creative, and resilient leaders who shape a brighter future.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to pioneer an educational spirit that drives long-term, positive change in our communities. We strive to make education appealing and valued among learners, guiding young people toward the right pathways to success. Through collaboration, mutual inspiration, and shared learning, we aim to cultivate harmony, peace, and respect across all social, professional, and educational levels. By creating a supportive and inclusive environment, we empower every learner to embrace excellence, creativity, and resilience, while rejecting harmful influences. Together, we seek to shape a generation that works hard, thinks independently, and contributes meaningfully to a brighter, united future.

Aim Statement

Our aim is to assist learners in discovering their strengths, dreams, and talents, and to help them make the best use of these abilities to reach their full potential. We strive to cultivate a lifelong passion for learning, inspire academic excellence, and nurture creativity, independence, and resilience. Through inclusive, safe, and supportive environments, we guide young people toward positive life choices, unite communities through education, and promote peace, harmony, and mutual respect, ultimately contributing to the development of productive and sustainable societies.
